Starting September 1, 2026, the national health card will gradually transition to the electronic identity card, but the current card remains valid. The new e-Health platform will enhance patient access to health services. Both cards will be usable during the transition period, ensuring continuity in accessing medical services. The electronic identity card will serve as an authentication tool in the health insurance system, but will not store medical records. Patients are advised to keep their current health cards until they receive the new identity card.
