Se pregătește „străpungerea” Carpaților pe autostrada A1 Sibiu–Pitești: tunelul Poiana va avea 1,78 kilometri

The drilling plan for the longest tunnel of the Trans-Carpathian highway has been changed, with work currently ongoing at the Cornetu-Tigveni site. WeBuild Romania's topography coordinator shared images from the Poiana tunnel portal, showing workers and machinery. The Italian contractor will now launch the TBM from the Sibiu side instead of Pitești due to necessary ground consolidations at the latter. Asphalting has also begun on an experimental section of the Cornetu-Tigveni stretch, with about 30% of the site active. Overall, physical progress on this section is at approximately 18%.
