In Timișoara, over 1,700 residents disconnected from the centralized heating system this summer, a significant increase compared to previous years. The rising energy costs and the availability of alternative heating options are the main reasons for this trend. Despite the high number of disconnections, some residents still choose to remain connected to the system. Future disconnection requests will be accepted starting May 1, 2027.
