Starting September 15, 2026, the fees for driver's licenses and vehicle registration documents will increase significantly. The General Directorate of Driver's Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DGPCI) announced that the cost of a driver's license will rise from 89 to 139 lei, while the vehicle registration certificate will increase from 49 to 76 lei. Additionally, the temporary circulation authorization will now cost 25 lei instead of 13 lei. Payments can be made online or at SelfPay terminals, but previous payments will no longer be valid after the price change.
