„Se impun clarificări publice”. CSM și președinții de tribunale cer și ei lămuriri despre întâlnirea dintre Bolojan şi șefa CCR
The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) demands public clarifications regarding a meeting between the interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the president of the Constitutional Court, Simina Tănăsescu, emphasizing the need for transparency. Concerns have arisen about the context and purpose of this meeting, especially as it coincides with significant institutional decisions. CSM highlights that the independence of the judiciary relies on the conduct of its representatives and the necessity to dispel any reasonable suspicion of bias. The presidents of Romanian tribunals also support the call for transparency, referencing a similar incident from 2018 involving Tănăsescu, which led to her resignation due to perceived conflicts of interest. They stress that such meetings should not create doubts about impartiality, which is crucial for public trust in the judiciary.
