Transelectrica is expanding its electricity transport network to accommodate the increasing production of renewable energy and storage. The company is developing several projects, particularly focusing on energy generation in Dobrogea and enhancing transport axes in eastern and western Romania. With 9,000 kilometers of existing lines, Transelectrica emphasizes the need for additional projects due to the changing energy landscape. New renewable energy capacities are emerging, necessitating safe transport to consumption areas. Key projects include the 400 kV double circuit line from Gutinaș to Smârdan and the Medgidia Sud-Constanța Nord line, aimed at integrating renewable sources. These developments will enhance the capacity to manage energy flows and improve the stability of the National Electric System.
