Construction on the Transylvania Highway is progressing rapidly, with nearly 100 kilometers expected to open by 2026, including Romania's longest viaduct. The first asphalt layer is being laid on a two-kilometer viaduct in the Nădășelu-Zimbor sector. Authorities aim to complete this section by the end of 2026, enhancing road connectivity between Cluj and Sălaj. Other sections, including the Chiribiș-Biharia and Suplacu de Barcău-Chiribiș, are also nearing completion, with significant work already done. Overall, the new highway segments will greatly improve transportation in western and northwestern Romania.
