Romanian farmers with up to five hectares of agricultural land may receive tax reductions of up to 100% under a new legislative proposal. The Senate has approved this initiative, which now moves to the Chamber of Deputies for further consideration. The tax reduction will depend on the number of animals owned and the area of land used, specifically targeting small-scale farmers. The measure applies to agricultural land in extravilan registered in the agricultural registry. Although the Senate has passed the proposal, it is not yet in effect until approved by the Chamber of Deputies and subsequently promulgated.
