The rise in fuel prices is attributed to supply issues stemming from conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, alongside potential export restrictions from the U.S. The average diesel price in the EU has reached a historic high of 2.23 euros per liter, with Denmark and Finland experiencing the highest costs. Oil prices have also risen, reaching 106 dollars per barrel.
