The price of diesel has increased at major distribution chains following a rise by OMV Petrom, the market leader. Diesel prices rose by 15 bani per liter after a previous drop due to a temporary excise reduction. Other chains, except Lukoil, have also raised prices today. The increase is attributed to rising fuel quotations and global market influences, including the war in Ukraine. Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the government cannot control fuel price increases, which are affected by global issues.
