The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, announced the completion of the sinking operation for two of the four barges aimed at increasing the Danube's water level. Despite previous delays, the operation is set to finish on Friday evening. Miruță emphasized the importance of safety measures during the process and noted that recent rainfall in Austria would take weeks to affect the Danube in Romania. He expressed confidence in the specialists involved and highlighted the need for transparency regarding the operation's costs. The authorities are working to create artificial thresholds to redirect water flow and mitigate low water levels near the Cernavodă power plant, as the Danube's flow remains critically low.
