Școlile românești din Ucraina, în centrul unei noi dispute legislative. Comunitatea cere intervenția Bucureștiului înaintea votului
A draft law on national minority education in Ukraine is set for parliamentary debate, with concerns raised by Romanian representatives about the potential decline of Romanian-language schools. They urge the Romanian government to advocate for clearer guarantees in the legislation. The proposed law, registered in October 2026, has received a recommendation for urgent examination but has not yet been adopted. Romanian community leaders from Chernivtsi, Transcarpathia, and Odesa have outlined their demands for the law to ensure the preservation of Romanian as the primary language of instruction and to extend Romanian-language education through high school. They also seek provisions for small classes and the ability for students to respond in Romanian during external evaluations. The representatives are calling for direct communication with Ukrainian lawmakers to discuss their amendments before the final vote.
