„Sclavie” în Covasna. Victime „vândute” cu până la 3.000 de euro și obligate să muncească chiar 16 ore pe zi
In Covasna, a woman and four men from the same family were arrested for exploiting vulnerable individuals through forced labor. The victims were made to work up to 16 hours a day without pay, and the group allegedly intended to 'sell' them for sums between €2,000 and €3,000. The group operated from March 2025 to August 2026, recruiting individuals in precarious situations and coercing them into labor. The woman acted as the leader, overseeing the victims and determining their work locations. The victims were deprived of their identity documents and subjected to physical abuse to prevent them from seeking help. Authorities conducted searches at the suspects' homes, seizing evidence and luxury vehicles. The suspects face charges including organized crime, forced labor, and human trafficking.
