In Covasna, a group led by a woman exploited vulnerable individuals for forced labor, working them up to 16 hours a day and attempting to sell them for up to €3,000. Five family members were arrested for their involvement in this criminal activity, which took place between March 2025 and August 2026. The victims, often lacking education and housing, were deceived and coerced into working without pay. They were kept in poor conditions and subjected to physical abuse to prevent them from seeking help. Authorities conducted searches and seized evidence, leading to a proposal for preventive detention of the suspects for 30 days.
