A new initiative in Romania aims to allow bank cardholders to withdraw any desired amount from ATMs, eliminating preset withdrawal limits. Supported by the National Bank of Romania and the government, this project is backed by all parliamentary parties. Currently, many ATMs restrict users to predefined amounts, limiting flexibility. The proposed change would enable users to manually enter the amount they wish to withdraw, enhancing convenience and control over their transactions. If implemented, this measure would particularly benefit customers using cards from banks different from the ATM operator.
