The Bâlea Lac Salvamont base is undergoing significant rehabilitation, with works starting after the Sibiu County Council approved the project. The investment amounts to 4.67 million lei. The base has been temporarily vacated by rescue teams and equipment, which have been relocated nearby to ensure ongoing mountain rescue operations. Initial work includes the removal of old electrical, heating, and water supply systems, executed by NV Const SRL. The project aims to modernize the facility, enhancing energy efficiency and improving conditions for rescuers. This upgrade is crucial for supporting rescue efforts in the challenging Făgăraș Mountains area, where rescuers frequently assist stranded or injured tourists.
