Schimbare în maternități. Cine va putea însoți mama în sala de naștere

The Parliament has passed a law allowing women to choose their companion during labor and childbirth, enabling fathers to be present if desired. The law, initiated by senator Ruxandra Cibu-Deaconu and supported by Raluca Turcan, modifies patient rights legislation and sets new rules for public and private maternity hospitals. Women can have a chosen person with them during labor, delivery, and hospital transfer, with restrictions only in exceptional medical situations. Maternity facilities must ensure privacy and cannot prohibit the chosen companion unless justified. Additionally, newborns cannot be separated from their mothers unless medically necessary, promoting early contact and breastfeeding.
