Schimb de misiuni în NATO: Spania preia misiunea de apărare a spațiului aerian al României, iar F-16 românești revin din Lituania
The Spanish Air Force has taken over NATO's air policing mission in Romania, deploying F-18M Hornet jets and around 180 personnel. This transfer of authority occurred at the 86th Air Base, marking Spain's fourth participation in this mission. The Italian and UK Air Forces concluded their missions, while the Spanish contingent will operate until the end of November. Concurrently, the Romanian Air Force completed its fourth participation in the NATO Enhanced Air Policing mission in the Baltic states, contributing to regional security. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that these missions are defensive in nature and occur during peacetime.
