The Agriculture Committee of the Chamber of Deputies approved two bills for state aid schemes to support pig and cattle breeders in 2026 due to the Middle East crisis. The aid aims to partially compensate for increased costs of fertilizers and fuels. A total of €66 million is allocated, with €11.5 million for pigs and €54.4 million for cattle. The measures are based on a temporary framework from the European Commission and will be implemented by local agencies. The bills have passed the Senate and await further approval before a final vote.
