The Romanian government has approved the 'TechUp Romania' state aid scheme to boost innovation and investment in technology sectors. This initiative is part of the economic recovery package and aims to modernize the economy by supporting high-value activities. With a budget of up to 5.3 billion lei from 2026 to 2032, the program will fund projects between 5 and 50 million lei, focusing on advanced technological solutions. It includes grants for research and development, as well as production investments in various strategic fields such as AI, biotechnology, and cybersecurity. The scheme is designed to create high-skilled jobs and enhance the trade balance by promoting exports of advanced technologies.
