The Ministry of National Defense stated that the generals attended as specialists, not as political representatives. Radu Miruță, the interim Defense Minister, defended their presence as normal practice, emphasizing their role in technical support. However, the PSD criticized this move, with Fifor and party leader Sorin Grindeanu questioning Miruță's competence and the necessity of the generals' involvement. The Ministry reiterated that military attendance at such hearings is standard procedure, aimed at providing necessary information to the committees.
