Hungarian authorities have launched a criminal investigation into alleged abuses at Eximbank, focusing on corruption from the previous administration. The police are examining four cases involving Eximbank, including a controversial one billion euro loan to North Macedonia. Internal documents have been seized to support the investigation, which was initiated after a complaint from the Ministry of Economy. Prime Minister Peter Magyar has vowed to tackle corruption linked to the former government, which he claims misused state funds for political allies. Another case involves a significant infrastructure project in Africa backed by Eximbank.
