Starting October 5, the A1 Sibiu-Pitești highway is closed for two and a half months for construction work, causing traffic rerouting. Transport official Horațiu Cosma criticized CNAIR for negligence, stating that thousands of drivers will face congestion again. CNAIR's Cristian Pistol defended the closure, claiming the detour takes only 19 minutes, slightly longer than the highway. He emphasized that construction is progressing and safety is maintained during this period. The project aims to improve traffic flow and complete significant phases of the highway's development.
