Scandal cu fonduri europene: cinci persoane, acuzate că ar fi trucat achiziții publice în mai multe primării • Newsweek România
The European Public Prosecutor's Office has charged five individuals for allegedly orchestrating fraudulent public procurement in municipalities benefiting from EU funds. The group, active from 2017 to 2022, targeted rural communes in Dolj County, convincing them to apply for EU financing. They prepared documentation for funding requests and procurement procedures, using false documents to meet eligibility criteria. The investigation covers seven EU-funded programs aimed at providing food and training for marginalized communities, with 22 procurement procedures suspected of fraud, resulting in an estimated loss of €1.8 million. Assets worth the same amount have been seized from the suspects.
