Sașii se întorc acasă în Sibiu după zeci de ani în Germania. Sunt peste 1.200 și preferă satele: „Îi trag rădăcinile”
The number of German and Austrian citizens returning to Sibiu County remains stable, with many being former Romanian citizens. Police chief Liliana-Adina Douchez noted that retirees often return to their roots, particularly to Saxon villages. The requests from these citizens show little variation year-on-year, with around 1,200 Germans among them. Many express a strong connection to their homeland and actively engage in community life. The return of these individuals has positively impacted local communities, contributing to the growth of the Evangelical Church, which has seen an increase in members for the second consecutive year. This trend reflects a desire for a quieter lifestyle and a renewed sense of purpose after retirement.
