Şase state membre UE cer taxarea profiturilor excepţionale generate de companiile petroliere

Six EU member states have called for a tax on oil companies due to soaring profits linked to the Middle East conflict. They urged the Irish Finance Minister to include this issue in the upcoming finance ministers' meeting agenda. The letter highlights the need for discussions on taxing exceptional profits, referencing lessons from a similar measure implemented after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil emphasized that energy firms should not exploit consumers during the crisis, advocating for excessive profits to be returned to them. Despite these requests, the EU has not indicated plans to impose such a tax.
