Șase state membre UE cer taxarea profiturilor excepționale făcute de companiile petroliere ca urmare a războiului din Orientul Mijlociu

Six EU member states are advocating for a tax on the exceptional profits of oil companies due to the Middle East conflict. The finance ministers from Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland, Portugal, and Spain have requested that this issue be added to the agenda for the upcoming finance ministers' meeting in Dublin. They highlight the significant profit margins of oil companies amid rising living costs and supply shocks. The ministers emphasize the need for discussions on taxing these profits, referencing a similar measure implemented after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Despite these calls, the EU has not indicated plans to impose such a tax.
