Six individuals were arrested and ten home searches were conducted in an operation across Austria, Italy, Spain, and the UK targeting a suspected migrant trafficking and document forgery network, according to Europol. Authorities seized identity documents, electronic equipment, and significant amounts of cash during the raids. The network allegedly transported migrants from continental Europe to the UK using forged documents, allowing illegal travel through Schengen airports. Most migrants initially entered the EU with authentic passports and valid tourist visas, later destroying their IDs for counterfeit ones provided by the network. Investigations involved multiple European countries, revealing extensive operations generating over two million euros in illegal profits. Europol emphasized the need for cooperation to combat migrant trafficking effectively.
