The SANITAS Federation has initiated an indefinite general strike in the public health and social assistance system, demanding better working conditions and fair salaries. Over 400 hospitals are participating, ensuring emergency services continue while non-urgent consultations may be rescheduled. Key demands include a fair salary law, protection of professional risk bonuses, and improved working conditions. The strike will persist until the government resumes negotiations and presents a salary law draft. SANITAS also reported pressure on employees participating in the strike, claiming that contract suspensions can only occur during the actual strike period.
