Sancţiuni cerute în Parlamentul European împotriva Meta dacă nu implementează şi în blocul comunitar măsurile de protecţie a minorilor, așa cum va face și în SUA

A group of EU lawmakers has urged the European Commission to enforce similar protections for minors on Meta's platforms as those recently agreed upon in the U.S. Meta's commitment includes limiting social media use for under-18s to two hours daily and restricting access at night. The lawmakers argue that European children deserve equal protection and expressed dissatisfaction with Meta's response to an ongoing EU investigation into the safety of minors on its platforms. They suggested that the EU might temporarily block access to Facebook and Instagram if necessary. The European Commission criticized Meta for not providing satisfactory measures to address the investigation's findings, which indicated that Meta's platforms could lead to addiction among users, including minors.
