The Romanian tax authority conducted an anti-fraud inspection at a beauty salon in Bucharest, revealing significant tax irregularities. The salon's representative was promoting services priced up to €2,000 on social media. Inspectors found discrepancies such as misclassified cash deposits, personal expenses improperly deducted, and illegal VAT claims related to luxury vehicles. Following the audit, additional tax liabilities exceeding 537,000 lei were established. The salon's administrator paid a total of 905,212 lei, which included penalties and interest, thus benefiting from immunity under tax evasion laws, avoiding criminal prosecution. The tax authority continues to monitor high-risk taxpayers.
