The interim Minister of Labor, Dragos Pislaru, stated that a decision on the minimum wage cannot be made until the report due on October 20 is presented. This announcement came amid protests by unions demanding an increase in the minimum wage and the resumption of collective bargaining negotiations. Pislaru emphasized that the government is currently limited in its decision-making capacity due to its interim status. He invited union representatives to discuss their demands, including the need for more sectoral collective contracts. The unions protested in front of the Ministry of Labor, calling for an increase in the minimum wage starting January 2027.
