Salariile cresc, dar jumătate din ramurile economiei pierd cursa cu prețurile

Romania's average salary has increased, but purchasing power has declined due to rising prices. In August 2026, the net average salary reached 5,688 lei, a 5.6% increase from the previous year. However, in 42 out of 84 economic sectors, salary growth did not keep pace with inflation. Education and public administration saw minimal increases, resulting in a real purchasing power loss of around 5%. High salaries in sectors like air transport do not guarantee protection against inflation, with significant declines in purchasing power. The average salary can rise even when lower salaries are eliminated, highlighting the need to consider employment structure alongside salary trends.
