Former social-democrat parliamentarian Timotei Stuparu, aged 75, was killed by a driver who failed to obey traffic rules, as announced by senator Robert Cazanciuc. Stuparu served as a deputy and senator for Teleorman and held various leadership positions in local political organizations. The Senate held a moment of silence in his honor.
