The proposed amendment by USR, which aimed to remove a provision affecting Mayor Dominic Fritz, was rejected. The new article clarifies that only the position in which a conflict of interest occurred can be terminated, not subsequent mandates. This change aligns with a Constitutional Court decision, ensuring that new mandates remain valid despite past issues. An amendment from UDMR was also approved, further modifying the legislation.
