Ryanair has announced a significant reduction in its flight schedule for November 2026 to March 2027, cutting around 10,000 flights due to rising fuel costs. Despite record passenger traffic in August, the airline has lowered its annual target, expecting to transport 214 million passengers instead of 216 million. The adjustments aim to minimize financial exposure during the winter months, traditionally a loss period for airlines. Routes from Italian airports to London and other less profitable connections may be affected, with anticipated losses reduced by 70 to 100 million euros. Ticket prices for short-haul flights are expected to rise significantly if fuel prices remain high, and Ryanair warns that competitors without similar financial protections may struggle this winter.
