Ryanair has announced a significant reduction in its flight schedule for November 2026 to March 2027, cutting around 10,000 flights due to rising fuel costs. Despite record passenger traffic in August, the airline has lowered its annual target for passenger numbers. The adjustments will focus on less profitable routes, particularly from Italian airports to London and other destinations. Ryanair aims to reduce losses by up to 100 million euros and warns that short-haul ticket prices may rise significantly if fuel prices remain high. The airline has hedged 80% of its fuel needs until March 2027, but only 15% for the next 12 months, indicating potential challenges for competitors without similar financial protections.
