„Rușinos”: de ce au refuzat SUA și Ucraina noua hartă a lumii. Tensiuni diplomatice majore după votul de la ONU

A diplomatic scandal erupted after a new UN map representation separated Crimea from Ukraine, leading to protests and abstentions from several countries. Ukraine, among seven nations, abstained from voting on the resolution due to the map's depiction of Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed in 2014. The resolution, proposed by Togo, aims to correct the world map's projection to better reflect the size of African countries. The new Equal Earth projection shows Crimea in gray, suggesting a separation from Ukraine, which Ukraine officially objected to at the UN. The EU supported the resolution but clarified it does not address territorial sovereignty issues. The US was the only country to vote against it, citing ideological concerns.
