Rușii retrag miliarde din bănci de teamă că statul le va naționaliza depozitele

Russians are withdrawing billions from banks due to fears of state confiscation to fund the war in Ukraine, with record cash withdrawals reported. The Central Bank of Russia noted that 286.4 billion rubles were withdrawn in early August alone. This trend reflects a significant lack of trust in the Russian banking system. Meanwhile, the federal budget deficit has reached 6.455 trillion rubles, nearly double the planned amount for the year. In response, Russian businessmen have contributed nearly 400 billion rubles to the budget, following a call from President Putin for voluntary donations to address the budget shortfall.
