Russia faced a significant drone attack from Ukraine during the last day of parliamentary elections, which are expected to favor President Putin's party. The elections, the first since the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, aim to renew the 450 seats in the State Duma. Ukrainian forces launched over a thousand drones, causing casualties and damage, including to a refinery in Moscow. Cyberattacks targeting the electronic voting system were also reported, attributed to well-coordinated groups using AI tools. The elections occur under a climate of repression, with the only anti-war party excluded. Voter turnout exceeded 50% by midday Sunday, with results expected shortly after voting ends.
