Russia and North Korea have inaugurated their first road bridge over the Tumen River, enhancing direct connectivity between the two nations. The 850-meter bridge will integrate North Korea into Russia's road network, marking a significant step in their growing relationship, particularly in military cooperation. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized the bridge's role in boosting economic ties. The project, discussed for years, was agreed upon during Putin's visit to Pyongyang in June 2024, with construction starting in 2025. The bridge aims to facilitate trade and tourism, reflecting the strategic partnership between the two countries.
