Russia has rejected the idea of a ceasefire with Ukraine in the Black Sea, claiming it sees no reason for half-measures that would only provide a respite for Kyiv. Both Russia and Ukraine have intensified attacks on commercial ships, leading to rising global grain prices. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Ukraine of terrorism against ships, while denying any mention of Russian attacks. She stated that Ukraine's actions aim to destabilize maritime transport and escalate tensions. Zakharova dismissed the feasibility of returning to a previous grain transport initiative mediated by Turkey, which has now stalled due to accusations of non-compliance from both sides.
