Moscow plans to allocate a record 17.1 trillion rubles for defense in 2027, marking a 27% increase from previous budgets. This commitment reflects Russia's long-term war efforts, with an estimated total of 50 trillion rubles in military spending over the next three years. The Kremlin aims to spend 12.1 trillion rubles this year, although actual military expenditures remain classified. To support this military budget, the Russian government is preparing new taxes on businesses and individuals, which will increase public debt to 21.7% of GDP by 2027. Additionally, borrowing is expected to rise by 43% in 2027.
