Rusia închide Institutele Goethe

Russia has decided to close Goethe Institutes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Yekaterinburg, escalating diplomatic tensions with Germany. This decision follows Germany's closure of a Russian cultural center in Berlin after a drone incident at Leipzig airport, which Russia views as a provocation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that this action is a direct response to Germany's measures, asserting that it signifies the end of German cultural presence in Russia. The closure of the Goethe Institutes, which have promoted German language and culture since 1992, marks a significant deterioration in Russo-German relations, already strained by the Ukraine war.
