This decision comes as global energy markets face pressure from conflicts in Iran and Ukraine, leading to rising fuel prices, particularly in the U.S. where diesel prices have reached record highs. Russia has previously imposed export restrictions to manage fuel prices and address shortages caused by drone attacks on its refineries. Normally the second-largest diesel exporter, Russia has already reduced its exports this summer, with significant production figures reported before the ban.
