Starting October 1, 2026, new rovinieta tariffs will be implemented based on vehicle emissions. Annual fees for cars will range from 228 to 330 lei, depending on the Euro standard. The TollRo electronic toll system will also launch, changing how heavy vehicles are charged based on distance traveled rather than time. Rovinieta will still apply to vehicles under 3.5 tons, while heavier vehicles will be subject to TollRo. Existing rovinietas remain valid until expiration, and the new system will offer various payment methods, including a mobile app and online portal.
