Rompetrol is optimizing energy consumption at its refineries to support the national energy system amid pressures from the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant shutdown. Measures include operational adjustments to reduce peak electricity use by about 5 MW, with a planned shutdown of the LDPE plant on August 22 expected to save an additional 8 MW. The company aims to increase energy supply to the national grid while maintaining refinery operations at high capacity.
