Românul e inventiv, dar pericolul e public. O dubă circula cu buturugi de lemn în loc de suspensii: „Buturuga este premieră şi pentru mine după 20 de ani de experienţă” • Știri Brașov Biz Brasov
Romanian drivers are increasingly modifying their vehicles dangerously, with cases of wooden logs replacing suspensions and disabled brakes. Inspectors from the Romanian Auto Registry (RAR) are alarmed by these practices, which pose significant risks on the roads. One inspector noted that a wooden log used as a suspension was unprecedented in his 20 years of experience. In another instance, a driver disabled his rear brakes, turning his car into a potential hazard. RAR officials emphasize that minor defects can be easily fixed, but neglecting them leads to greater dangers and costs. Recent traffic checks revealed widespread issues, with 42 drivers in Bucharest losing their vehicle registration in just three days due to technical failures. Nationally, nearly half of the 100,000 vehicles inspected last year had serious technical deficiencies, highlighting a growing concern for road safety.
