Românii joacă la păcănele și pariuri peste 5% din PIB-ul României: 100 de miliarde de lei, într-un singur an. Peste 90 de localități au declarat război cazinourilor

Despite bans in several cities, gambling halls continue to generate significant profits in Romania, particularly from slot machines. The latest report from the Romanian Court of Accounts indicates that Romanians are increasingly spending on gambling, with over 96.1 billion lei wagered in 2024. The report highlights a yearly increase in licensing and authorization fees, with revenues rising significantly in 2023 and 2024. However, the National Office for Gambling has failed to adequately verify operators' monthly declarations and conduct necessary controls. Many localities have voted to ban gambling establishments, with Ploiești being the latest city to implement such measures.
