Farmers are struggling due to both inflation and drought, with reports of sales dropping by about 50% compared to last year. The overall economic climate is described as a "frozen age," with many people unable to afford basic necessities. Despite a slight decrease in inflation, Romania still faces the highest price increases in the EU, resulting in real income losses for both minimum wage earners and pensioners. Consumption has declined by 6.2% over the past year, reflecting the ongoing fiscal consolidation and new taxes introduced.
